Brian turns 16 in 5 days

Not much is new with Brian and me other than on Sunday he turns 16 and is sooooo excited about getting his driving permit and being able to finally get a job. My parents and Sean will be coming for dinner on the 26th, my sister is busy with her kids and football, so they won't be able to make it and my brother and his family are in Maryland. Brian will hang out with his friends both Friday and Saturday nights, as a bunch of his friends all turn 16 within a week or two of each other, so they will celebrate this weekend. His best friend Larry's b-day is this Thursday. He wants to join a gym so he can start working out all the time, which is great, but I will have to drive him everyday. My car is finally being fixed on Monday, 10/27/08. I received the check from the other insurance company and they are going to pay for a rental car until my car is fixed. Brian and I still miss Kira, but are getting used to her not being there, and I must admit it is nice not to have to worry about anything being left on the floor. I do still check the Animal Shelter's website occassionally to see if she's been adopted yet, which she hasn't, but I'm still confident she will be. Our other cat Roxy seems to be doing ok, but we can tell she does miss Kira also. The weather is definately changing in NJ. No longer going out without a sweatshirt or light weight jacket. Tomorrow is supposed to be very cold and windy. I guess it's time to get my winter clothes from my sister's and put my summer clothes away. Brian continues to do well in school - YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not miss changing the clothes in my closet from summer to winter one bit!!! I used to hate that job and I always hated the winter clothes. But . . . I do miss a crispness in the air and the cozy feeling of being inside all warm and snuggly when the weather is active outside. NJ is a wonderful place that will always be home to me.

Joyce, I too do not like winter clothes and having to change clothes in my closet for the different seasons - it really is a pain in the neck!!!! The change in the weather is nice and the leaves changing colors are beautiful. I can't believe Brain is 16. Time sure is going fast!!!!!

Anne-
I can't believe "Our" Boy is going to be 16 years old. I have watched him grow into a really good kid. I know you had your issues here and there but you always came through and the issues where never so bad that you couldn't handle it. You should be so proud that you raised such a well adjusted child. Also we are both very lucky to have had are parents helps us in their way and for that we are always going to have those "Favorite Grandkid" which is such a wonderful feeling for us as well as them..

Karen, thank you very much for the kind words and you are absolutely right about having the support of my parents. Like you I don't know what I would have done without them. You have been my rock for these past 16 years. Brian has definately given me a run for my money and you have always been there for me to help through the tough times and God knows there have been a lot, but luckily he seems to have out grown that and is on the right path.
